Fuh-Lian Toh

PhD candidate, National Taiwan University
I am a PhD student in mechanical engineering specializing in design, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan, where I have been pursing my studies for nearly seven years. Originally from Malaysia, I have been spent most of my academic journey studying abroad. I am passionate about integrating engineering and medicine to design robotic exoskeletons that assist those in need.
My research focuses on the development of wearable assistive device, particularly systems that provide external force to support the head and neck movement for individuals with dropped head syndrome, while maintaining comfort and respecting the biomechanics of the human neck with similar degrees of freedom. My work involves device design, kinematic modelling, workspace analysis, and motion control, with the goal of improving mobility and quality of life for patients.
