Vittorio Colacino

Vittorio Colacino, MD, is a physician–scientist and MedTech entrepreneur working at the intersection of medicine, artificial intelligence, and translational biomedical innovation. He earned his M.D. from the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Rome, Italy, where he is currently a PhD candidate in Bioengineering, Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems. He also serves as a Postdoctoral Research Innovation Fellow at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the world’s first engineering-based medical school.
His research focuses on the development and translational application of artificial intelligence methods for medical imaging, early disease detection, and clinical decision support, with particular emphasis on integrating AI-driven tools into real-world clinical workflows.
Dr. Colacino is also the Founder and CEO of a MedTech startup developing AI-based technologies for healthcare. His work bridges academic research, clinical validation, and scalable product development, with the goal of translating advanced computational methods into deployable solutions that improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
