Wei-Ming Chen

Dr. Wei-Ming Chen is the Superintendent of Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH) and President of the Taiwan Public Hospital Association, leading Taiwan's largest public healthcare system. An expert in orthopedic oncology and joint reconstruction, he has performed over 30,000 surgeries, including over 20,000 arthroplasties and 5,000 musculoskeletal tumor surgeries.
Dr. Chen introduced minimally invasive knee and hip arthroplasty to Taiwan in 2001, founded the Taiwanese Association for Bone Cancer Care, and helped establish Taiwan as a global leader in these fields. Under his leadership, TVGH manages over a third of Taiwan's cancer patients and 60% of bone sarcoma cases. He has been honored with the KT Li Management Award, Civil Service Outstanding Contribution Award, Taiwan Medical Excellence Award, and Yixing Award, and is a professor and former president of the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.
